Why Are People Putting On Weight?

Many people these days are wondering how to lose belly fat. It is becoming a major problem for so many people.
So how do you lose belly fat?
Well let's start by looking at why people are putting weight on around their waist lines.
People put on weight when they are taking in more calories than their body burns. To get your bodies needs in balance; you first have to work out how many calories your body needs. The average person needs between 1800 and 2500 calories a day. The problem is that most people do not realize how many calories are in the food they eat.
You can get an idea of what is in it by checking the label. Understanding the label gives you the power to learn what you are consuming. The food label will tell you things such as how many people the packet is supposed to feed, some packets are intended for more than just one person. If you are eating a packet that is intended for two people then you are getting more than the recommended calories which can lead to weight gain.
If you buy packet food then you have to watch out for the tricks that the food manufacturers use to disguise what is in the food. They will try and hide the amount of sugar by calling it something else such as sucrose. The other thing that you need to watch out for is the fat content. There are basically two types of fat. There are the healthy fats that your body needs and the unhealthy fat. Healthy fats come from things like nuts and avocados. The unhealthy fats are thing such as trans-fats. These must be avoided at all costs. It is this sort of fat that causes you health problems such as problems with your heart. They can lead to high levels of cholesterol, which everyone knows is bad for you.
Another thing you need to watch out for is the amount of salt in the food. It is often disguised by calling it sodium chloride. It is the fats, salts and sugar that you need to check for whenever you are buying packets of food. It may be a quick and easy way to eat but it can also damage your health if you do not look carefully at the ingredients in the food.
You need to get to grips with what is in the foods you are consuming. Until you do this, you will never get to fully understand where all the calories are coming from.
Keep an eye on the labels and check all the ingredients. It is only by doing this you will be able to control how many calories you consume each day.
In summary:
  • Check the labels
  • Check the portion size
  • Watch out for excess fat, sugar and salt.
This will give you more control over how many calories you consume.
